Google Apps for Education

• Basic Info:

  Google Apps for Education fundamentally changed the face of collaborative education at KPBSD. The project involved the coordination of numerous custom systems designed to synchronize our account systems with Google, eliminating the need for manual administration.

  Google Apps deployment immediately produced positive results across the organization. Business processes benefited from ability to share documents and spreadsheets, while forms introduced an effective method to gather data. Teachers and students began to use this tool as a method to organize instruction, gather information, and share knowledge amongst themselves and peers.

  Custom integration work kept ease-of-use at the forefront of design. Authentication was tied directly to existing account systems, meaning staff and students could login by using their existing credentials. Wherever possible, ties were made into our existing Outlook address book, allowing staff quick and easy access to Google Apps endpoints without needing to know underlying email address.
